Explanation of Our Domestic Services and Fees

What are Love Basket’s fees for the Domestic Adoptive Placement Program?

In order to reach more families who might not otherwise be able to afford a domestic adoption, Love Basket offers adoption assistance to qualifying families. Any grant amount will be determined by Love Basket (LB) after you submit your initial application materials, as well as an application for adoption assistance. Grants will be based on family size, income and assets, as well as the difficulty of finding a family for a particular child. To request a grant application, please contact our office.

Any variations in fees for residents of Minnesota (MN) are noted below.

Love Basket Home Study Fee*	$1,250	To LB at final home visit (MN residents $1,750)
Love Basket Home Study Update*	$795	To LB at final home visit (MN residents $295 to LB with update application & $700 to LB at Home Study visit)
Love Basket Post Placement Services **	$900	To LB upon child placement (MN residents at Post-Placement visit)
Interim Child Care Fees (if necessary)	$30/day	To LB upon child placement
Interstate Compact (for interstate placements only)	$500	To LB upon child Placement
Any mandated Post-placement reports in excess of 3	$300/each	To LB upon request

*This is the fee for a Home Study or Home Study Update completed by Love Basket. If the Home Study or Home Study Update is completed by another licensed agency, Love Basket will review it for a fee of $125.

**If court appearances are required in connection with finalizing the adoption, there is an additional charge of $125 per appearance, plus travel costs.

What is not included in the Child Placement fee?
Expenses not a part of the Placement Fee include, but are not limited to the following: Application, Home Study and Post-Placement charges as well attorney and court fees, birth-related medical expenses for mother and child, Interim child care services, Birth parent expenses, completion of Interstate Compact (in interstate placements only), cooperative agency fees and staff travel outside a 50 mile radius. There may be other expenses such as courier services, hospital newborn pictures and pediatric child care.
