Dear Birth Parents,
Hello! We are Mike and Cheryl. Thank you for taking the time to get acquainted with us. Choosing the right family for your baby is an important decision, and we pray that God gives you guidance during this time.
Our story together begins in 2001 when we were introduced to each other by our moms. We had our first phone conversation on Christmas Day. We hit it off right away and talked for over three hours! We had our first date two days later, and we have been inseparable ever since. When we got married in July of 2003, we both felt that our love for each other couldn't be any stronger. Happily, we were both wrong! We have been married for 8 years now, and our love continues to grow deeper with each passing day. We love and respect each other very much and are true soul mates.
About a year after we were married, we decided it was time to start our family. After several years of trying to conceive, we learned it would be unlikely for us without the help of expensive and invasive fertility treatments. We were absolutely heartbroken at first, but after a lot of reflection and many prayers, we realized that God had an amazing plan for us, and that He was guiding us to grow our family though adoption.
In 2008, we began the adoption process through Love Basket. In December of 2009, we welcomed our son, Sean, into our family. He is almost two years old now and is the joy of our lives. We are so grateful for him, and we feel so blessed to have such a wonderful son. He will be such a terrific big brother!
Our Faith: One of the most important aspects of our life is our Catholic faith. We always look forward to attending Mass each week and are very devoted to God and our church. We look forward to sharing our faith with our children. Other than love, faith in God is the greatest gift that we can give our children.
Our Family: We have been blessed with an amazing and close-knit family. We spend a lot of time with both sides of our family. Each side has many young children, so our children will have many playmates. Everyone is SO excited that we are adopting again, and they can't wait to meet the newest member of our family!
Our Home: Our home is a ranch style house situated in a family oriented neighborhood with gorgeous tree-lined streets. We are adjacent to award-winning blue ribbon schools and many beautiful parks. We live in an awesome suburban community where people are friendly and always welcoming. Our community has all the modern conveniences with a small-town feel. We are close to an abundance of shopping and entertainment, plus we are only a short 20-minute drive from downtown. We have access to one of the nation's best zoos, professional sports venues, concerts and Broadway shows. We are also in close proximity to five nationally renowned hospitals and medical centers. Our home is a very warm, cozy and inviting place to be. We can’t wait to hear the pitter patter of little steps in our house once again!
Our Hobbies and Interests: We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, as well as outdoor activities, movies, concerts, and traveling. What we enjoy most is just being together as a family and spending time with each other and Sean.
We have always dreamt about having at least two children. We are so thrilled to be adopting again, and we can't wait to welcome a new baby into our family. We are looking forward to hearing the pitter patter of little feet in our house once again! We can't wait for sleepovers, school projects, birthday parties, summer vacations and all of the other fun things that come with having children.
We promise you that our new child, along with Sean, will always be unconditionally loved, honored and respected. We will provide both of our children with many opportunities to learn, grow and experience life to the fullest. We will encourage them to pursue their dreams. Most importantly, we will provide our children with a loving, nurturing, and happy Christian home.
We hope to have an open relationship with our new child's birth parents, if that is also their wish. We would love to share photos, letters and even visits. We will respect the level of openness the birth parents feel most comfortable with.
We pray that the Lord is comforting you and guiding you through this important decision. It takes a person of amazing strength, courage, and selflessness to consider adoption for her child. Our child will always know how much he or she is loved by the birth parents. We will be forever grateful to our child's birth parents for giving us the precious gift of a son or daughter.
May God bless you always.
With respect and admiration,
Mike and Cheryl
